In March 2025, the renowned Rich Mix venue in Shoreditch played host to the official premiere of Flee FM 2, the latest project from legendary grime collective Ruff Sqwad. Supported by an impressive line-up of sponsors and partners—Wingstop, Bumbu Rum, Luc Belaire, Chaps, OluOlu Foods, Drip Water, and Sauc’d It—the event brought together figures from across the grime scene for an evening that celebrated the genre’s roots while spotlighting its bright future.
Guests were treated to exclusive previews from the Flee FM 2 mixtape & cinematic short film, alongside visuals and curated content that highlighted Ruff Sqwad’s influence on UK music and the enduring legacy of pirate radio culture. The atmosphere was electric, with food, drink and conversation flowing throughout the evening, setting the stage for what would become a truly memorable occasion.
The highlight of the night came with a live grime set to close the event, featuring a heavyweight line-up of DJs and MCs. Taking control of the decks were DJ Maximum (Boy Better Know), DJ Begg, and Selecta JJ, delivering a high-energy set packed with classic instrumentals and rapid-fire reloads. On the mic, grime legends So Large, members of Ruff Sqwad, Roll Deep, and Neeko (More Fire Crew) brought their trademark energy and presence, igniting the crowd with every bar.
Representing the new generation, RB, Teewhy, Twenty’8, and Plain Jane stepped up with sharp lyricism and commanding performances, proving that the next wave of talent is ready to carry the culture forward. The seamless interaction between grime veterans and rising stars made the set a standout moment—equal parts celebration and co-sign.
